BC Parks Student Design Competition

BC Parks' iconic picnic tables have gone unchanged for more than 50 years. The picnic tables have become well-known, and are being used as a standard in all B.C. provincial parks. As an exciting BC 150 challenge, BC Parks gave post-secondary students a great opportunity to show off their skills by designing a new picnic table that will be considered for use throughout B.C.'s provincial parks.

The winning designer will receive a prize of $3,000, and may have his or her design replace the picnic table used for BC Parks.

The contest closed on November 28, 2008. Thank you to all who participated. 

BC Parks is now in the process of adjudicating the entries.  The winning entrant will be notified by February 2, 2009 and the winning entry will be posted on the website.
