GeoRush 2008 – Cache in at BC Parks

Come and play!!!

GeoRush to your nearest BC Park to experience a geocaching adventure.

Geocaching is a popular outdoor recreation activity that allows participants to use Global Positioning System (GPS) units to locate hidden caches.  Now, as part of British Columbia’s 150th celebration, BC Parks is supporting GeoRush 2008, an exciting geocaching adventure taking place in provincial parks!

Limited edition, BC 150 commemorative coins have been cached in several of B.C.’s provincial parks.  Volunteers from the BC Geocaching Association (BCGA), in conjunction with BC Parks, have placed these caches in approximately 100 locations within provincial parks.

Chris Edley, a director of the BCGA, had this to say,“Geocaching is all about promoting a healthy lifestyle and exploring the world around you, and what better place to do that than in our beautiful provincial parks.”

How to Participate

A list of participating provincial parks and other GeoRush 2008 details are available at the BCGA's website: (www.bcgeocaching.com). You can then download the GPS coordinates for each park from this website.

For more information about B.C.’s provincial parks, please visit the BC Parks website for an alphabetical listing of the parks. Individual park pages have specific information about each park, including location maps, park maps, specific park features and trail and other park information.
